Dr. Makiko Miyamoto completed her medical training in Japan. She graduated in medicine from the Tokyo Women’s Medical University. She then went on to specialize in dermatology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

During her training at Hôpital Erasme, Dr. Miyamoto had the opportunity to specialize in skin oncology (skin cancer) and dermatologic surgery. In particular, she specializes in advanced skin imaging techniques such as LC-OCT and confocal microscopy, which she practices at the Institut Jules Bordet.

Dr Miyamoto also holds the Diplôme Interuniversitaire de Chirurgie Réparatrice des Cancers Cutanés de la Face, awarded by the University of Angers in France. She performs reconstructive surgery for facial skin cancers at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Brugmann.

Another of her areas of expertise is gynecological dermatology. She treats anogenital mucosal diseases in women.

Finally, she also practices dermato-esthetics, with procedures such as botulinum toxin injections, hyaluronic acid, skin boosters and chemical peelings.

She is a member of the Royal Belgian Society of Dermatology and Venerology (RSBDV), the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) and the Société Française d’Esthétique en Dermatologie (SFED).
